2am this morning was like Christmas morning here in the boonies. Day 1 of CC102 was so good!
I haven't finished CC101, I still have a couple of classes to go and hope to finish this afternoon. Although I've been scrapbooking for a few years now my inking, stamping and paint skills have been very laking so this opportunity to learn from "the best" Mr. Tim Holtz himself has been such an awesome experience.
So far I have been a terrible blogger but will endeavor to make a far greater effort to get off my butt and get creating so I have something to share. I've found Creative Chemistry so inspiring I know it will be easier now ;)
The techniques today were Distress Paint based...
Technique 1: Marbling with Distress Paints
This marbling technique is one I still need to practice in all mediums I just haven't managed to get it right without it muddying too much. The yellow is distress ink but the rest of the colors are distress paints.
Technique 2: Colored Crackle with Distress Paints
The top flower is also inked with Distress Ink and the bottom flower is inked with Distress Stain. Sorry for such a busy background it wasn't until I photographed it that I realized how over down it was.
Technique 4: Eroded Metallic with Distress Paints
Loved this one! By combining paint and metallic paint with the distress properties and Tim's techniques you really do get the effect of tarnished copper.
Technique 5: Stamping Resist with Distress Paints
Picket Fence makes such a great resist... will definitely use this one lots.
Sorry I haven't done techniques 4 and 6 as I'm waiting on an order from SSS with class supplies. There will probably be a few things throughout the week I won't be able to do until my shipment arrives in a couple of weeks but I will add them as soon as I can.
Thanks so much for checking out what I've been up to and I look forward to sharing all week long as the classes roll on :)
